🏍️ Road Trips 📍 Kanchanaburi

Rob's take

"The Death Railway and the war cemeteries, and a place that deserves more than a rushed day — it's over 300km, so stay the night on one of the floating raft guesthouses, which are half the reason to come. Fold in Erawan's waterfalls to the north and you have a proper two-day trip rather than a sightseeing dash."

Kanchanaburi is a road-trip destination in Kanchanaburi, within the greater Pattaya area of Chon Buri, Thailand.

Kanchanaburi is a riverside town and province in western Thailand, over 300 km from Pattaya and better treated as an overnight trip than a day out. It is known for the Bridge on the River Kwai and the wartime Death Railway, the Allied war cemeteries in the town centre, and the tiered falls of Erawan National Park to the north. Floating raft guesthouses line the river, and that setting is much of the appeal.
