Ko Mak

★ 4.5 (414 reviews) 🏍️ Road Trips 📍 Trat

Rob's take

"Quieter again than Ko Chang and reached from the same Trat piers — flat calm water, near-empty beaches and very little to do, which is the entire point. Most people fold it into an island-hopping run rather than travel five hours for it alone. Hire a motorbike or a golf cart when you land, because nothing here is walkable."

Ko Mak is a road-trip destination in Trat, within the greater Pattaya area of Chon Buri, Thailand. It's rated 4.5★ on Google.

Ko Mak is a quiet island reached by boat from Trat, and often included on island-hopping day trips from Ko Chang. Clear, calm water, uncrowded beaches and friendly local food make it a genuine break from the busier stretches of coast. Days fill with snorkelling, diving, kayaking, cooking classes and beach sports, though a rented motorbike or golf cart is the practical way to get around.
