What Things Cost in Pattaya: Real Prices in Baht

Getting around

Songthaew (baht bus) on a normal loop: 15 baht, flat, any distance including out to Jomtien. Chartering one privately: around 100. Motorbike taxi, short hop: 25. Grab from Central Pattaya to Jomtien: about 50.

Scooter hire is around 300 baht a day or 2,000 a month; a car is about 1,000 a day. Getting here from Bangkok is 130 baht on the bus from Ekkamai or Suvarnabhumi, 140 from Mo Chit, or about 1,200 for a private car.

Eating and drinking

Street-food plate: 50 baht. Main course in a mid-range restaurant: 200. Coffee in a café: 80. Large beer in an ordinary bar: 80, or about 90 in a beach bar or beach club.

That spread is the useful thing here, not any single number — a day's eating runs anywhere from 150 baht at market stalls to 1,000-odd if every meal is sit-down with drinks, and both are entirely normal ways to do Pattaya.

The beach

A lounger and umbrella is about 100 baht for the day in town, and the same at Yinyom and Ban Amphur. At Sai Kaew in the Sattahip naval area, chairs are 40 and entry is 100 for adults and 50 for children.

Ko Samet charges a 200 baht national park fee on arrival. Getting to Koh Larn is 40 baht on the public ferry from Bali Hai or about 150 by speedboat — the speedboat is fifteen minutes against forty-five and is usually the better pick.

Jet skis are 1,500 baht for half an hour, which makes them one of the few genuinely expensive things on this list, before you get to the long-standing business of damage claims at the end of a rental. Agree a lounger price before you sit down, too.

Attractions — what a ticket costs

These come from the venues' own websites rather than from us, and each place page carries the source and the date it was read. The Sanctuary of Truth is 500 baht for the day tour and 700 at night, with children 110–140 cm at 250 and 350. Underwater World is 550 for adults and 320 for children. The Dolphinarium starts at 700 for the show, and rises steeply from there — 6,000 to swim with the dolphins, 7,000 to spend the day as a trainer.

Ripley's is priced per attraction rather than as one ticket, which catches people out: the Odditorium is 600, Louis Tussaud's 525, Scream in the Dark 450, the Vault Laser Maze 375, and Horror Hospital, Haunted Adventure, Infinity Maze and The Lost Pyramid are 600 each. Booking online saves 25% but has to be done at least a day ahead. The elephant sanctuary's feeding programme is 700 for adults and 350 for children aged 4 to 11.

My own figures for the big days out, which the venues do not publish plainly: Aquaverse around 1,000 on the gate, Ramayana 750, Nong Nooch 600, Khao Kheow Open Zoo 350, all still right as of September 2026. Treat them as the adult walk-up rate rather than a fixed price — what you actually pay depends on who is with you, because there are usually discounts for children, families and seniors. Ramayana does publish a combined ticket with Ripley's at 1,329 baht against a 2,159 list price, which is the best value on this page if you want both.

Watch the extras. Aquaverse charges about 300 for a locker and 200 refundable for a towel; Thai Sky Adventures adds a 500-baht fuel and insurance fee at the office that is not in the online price; the Sanctuary of Truth lends shawls and sarongs against a 200-baht deposit. Karting is 500 for a standard kart and 700 for the quick one. The Xbungy jump is 2,500 including video, certificate and insurance — the human slingshot is 1,400 for two launches, and that is the one thing on this page I would tell you to skip.

Where to sleep

Roughly 1,000 baht a night for budget, 1,500 for mid-range and 2,000 for something nice. Those are low numbers by the standards of most visitors' home countries, and they are the main reason people end up staying longer here than planned.

One correction to something this site used to imply: the areas are not priced very differently from each other. What moves the price is how close you are to the beach or a shopping mall — a hotel on Beach Road costs more than the equivalent on Third Road, and is a lot more convenient. Naklua is not inherently pricier than Jomtien; a beachfront room anywhere is pricier than a back-street one.

Dual pricing, which is worth knowing about

At Thai national parks and a number of other attractions, foreigners pay more than Thai nationals. It is official, it is posted, and it is not aimed at you personally. What is unusual is how plainly the venues publish it, so this is documented rather than rumoured:

Ko Kham charges a Thai adult 300 baht and a foreign visitor 600. The View Ferris Wheel charges Thai citizens 280 and international adults 480. House of Benedict is 100 baht for Thai nationals and 200 for foreign visitors. FROST Magical Ice of Siam lists 450 for Thai nationals. Ko Samet's national park fee is 200 baht for foreign visitors.

At the local attractions the gap is usually a factor of two and the absolute numbers are small. The national parks are the exception, and a much steeper one: the Department of National Parks has run a fixed four-group scale since June 2022, and in the top group — which includes Khao Yai — a foreign adult pays 400 baht against 40 for a Thai, a factor of ten. Ko Samet's 200 is five times the Thai rate.

Budget for it and it stops being an irritation; the thing that actually annoys people is meeting it at the gate having never heard of it. Outside the parks it rarely amounts to more than a couple of hundred baht.
